From 2 April, what was formerly Kalev AS and Põltsamaa Felix AS will now be the single legal entity ‒ Orkla Eesti AS. The merger of these two well-known Estonian food production companies, which started five years ago with the merger of the management of the companies and the main support services, is now finally complete.
The merger will not affect the production or strong trademarks of Kalev and Felix; both factories in Jüri and Põltsamaa will continue to produce the same products and market them under their trusted trademarks.
The legal merger of the two companies is a logical next step and the synergy created allows both production units to focus more effectively on their core business, while the operations across the rest of the organization can also become more efficient.
Orkla Group is a leading provider of groceries and essential goods in the Nordic countries and Baltic States as well as selected markets in Central Europe, Russia and India. Orkla’s shares are listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange in Norway. The group’s turnover was 4.2 billion euros last year, with more than 18,000 people working in the group. The success of the Orkla Group in all countries is based on strong local trademarks.
